A Business Wire release built around research from ISG, commissioned by mea Platform, states that 83% of the global insurance market would hand repeatable operational work to AI, that 75% would only do so through an insurance-specific or governed model, and that just 6% would trust a general-purpose model for high-consequence underwriting or claims decisions. The release does not say how many people were surveyed. A separate trade report describing what it calls the same ISG research puts the sample at 150 insurance leaders, and adds a figure the release omits: 86% want people to retain authority over consequential decisions. Before repeating the 83% figure to a client or a carrier, know where it came from and how many people it actually represents.
