What happened

The forms, available since January, already appear on some commercial general liability policies, a trade report says.

ISO introduced three endorsements that remove coverage for bodily injury, property damage and other claims arising from generative AI, according to a trade report. The forms became available for attachment in January 2026, the report says, and are already appearing on commercial general liability policies.

What is verified

The source's own statement, as linked above. Nothing beyond it has been independently checked by us.

What remains unclear

This is not evidence of how many carriers have actually attached the forms to live policies, and the report does not name a carrier's specific book of business.

What it means for your book

Agencies placing accounts that build with generative AI tools should ask whether ISO's exclusion language is on the CGL form before renewal, not after a claim.

  • Check the CGL specimen for generative AI exclusion language before binding
  • Ask the carrier directly whether the endorsement is attached, not assumed
