What happened

A leadership advisory column describes exclusions for AI-driven errors landing in traditional business coverage.

Korn Ferry published a piece saying several major US business insurers now exclude liabilities tied to chatbots, agents and other AI tools from traditional business coverage, and frames chatbot misstatements and similar errors as the exposure that falls into the gap.

What is verified

The source's own statement, as linked above. Nothing beyond it has been independently checked by us.

What remains unclear

Korn Ferry is an advisory firm, not a carrier or a regulator, and the column names no forms and no insurers. It is consistent with the ISO filing above and the Berkley specimen in Finding 002, but it adds no new instrument.

What it means for your book

Clients with customer-facing chatbots are the ones to check first. If the answer to "does your policy respond when the chatbot is wrong" is not in writing, it is a question for the carrier before renewal, not after a claim.

  • List clients with a customer-facing chatbot or AI agent
  • Put the coverage question to their carrier in writing
